Weiss Technik UK wins University College London tender

Following a European Journal tender invitation by the University College London (UCL) and subsequent application by Weiss Technik UK, we’re pleased to announce that we've been chosen to supply a customised walk-in room system for testing building materials at UCL. The customised test system will consist of two independently-controlled temperature and humidity rooms to simulate the indoor and external environments. The room simulating the external environment will be in a fixed position and offer climatic control with the addition of rainfall simulation and the ability to add future IR or UV lighting. The room simulating the internal environment is mobile on a rail system with the ability to be moved, allowing the build of a test wall with a special load frame supplied by UCL. Once complete, the room is moved back into position and sealed against the frame to allow testing to begin. UCL will also provide a special flooding tank to be installed in the external environment room to enable studies on the effects of flooding on various building materials. The Weiss room features a special strengthened floor to accommodate the weight of the flood tank. Weiss Technik UK will begin the work for UCL, later on this month.
