Weber Sensors Morns the Passing of Company Founder

July 16, 2015 – It is a very sad day at Weber Sensors as we regretfully announce the passing of our founder Gunther Weber at the age of 98. Mr. Weber founded the Weber Sensors Group in northern Germany sixty five years ago. Mr. Weber was a serial innovator who invented then produced sensors under the captor™ trademark. He passionately insisted that every captor product represent the highest quality and precision possible. Although we are deeply saddened, we take great pride in committing to continuing Mr. Weber’s legacy of innovation and excellence. It is difficult to imagine where industry would be today without the genius of Mr. Weber’s inventions which not only were the cornerstone of our products but truly helped usher in a new age of automated production throughout the world. Though we mourn Gunther’s passing we celebrate his life which was lived boldly and on his own terms. We will forever remember him not only as our founder and mentor but in large part for his stubborn insistence of excellence that forged us into the company we are today. Family members will continue their active roles in the business.
