Martensitic Stainless Steel M27 x 125mm Socket Head Capscrew. The 12% Chrome content in this steel provides a sharp improvement in corrosion and oxidation resistance in mainly ambient atmospheres such as moist air, water and steam. Unlike austenitic stainless steels, this grade of stainless is magnetic and still generates a Martensitic micro-structure when quickly cooled from above 925°C. Heat treatment gives various states of tensile strengths and apart from kitchenware and food processing it has found a use in steam component as in this case.
