Rubb proud to be named among finalists for Manufacturing Award
Rubb was delighted to be shortlisted for the Manufacturing Award in the Tyneside and Northumberland heats of the North East Business Awards. The cream of the region's business community gathered to see 12 top firms win trophies. The annual event is organised by The Journal and The Gazette. It is held in association with the North East Chamber of Commerce and aims to highlight the inspiring work of businesses throughout the past 12 months. The winners were announced at the Marriot Hotel at Gosforth Park on Thursday, February 26. NCJ Media Managing Director Stuart Birkett opened proceedings with a passionate speech about business in the North East. Then jockey Richard Dunwoody stepped up as guest speaker and gave a blow-by-blow account of his Grand National triumph in 1994. Worthy winners Egger (UK) Ltd scooped the manufacturing accolade, with Rubb and Infinite Playgrounds and Canopies named as runners up in this category. Rubb MD Ian Hindmoor said: “I am delighted that Rubb was named as a finalist for this award. It is testament to the hard work and dedication the team has contributed to the business.” At the ceremony, hosted by TV presenter Kim Inglis, a total of 12 awards were presented to the winners listed below: Green Award: Bari Tea Brewery Manufacturing Award, sponsored by University of Sunderland: EGGER (UK) Ltd Export Award: Mactech Engineering and Inspection Let’s Grow Award, sponsored by FW Capital: Owen Pugh Group Digital and Social Media Award, sponsored by Sintons LLP: Lane7 Heart of the Community Award, sponsored by Arch Groupe: Port of Tyne Apprenticeship Award, sponsored by Northumberland Collegee: British Engines Services Awarde: Ringtons Ltd Innovation Award, sponsored by GE Oil and Gase: Orange Bus Newcomer of the Year, sponsored by Virgin Moneye: Bede Gaming Small Business of the Year, sponsored by Berniciae: Cleardata Ltd Company of the Year, sponsored by Port of Tyne: AAF International The Tyneside and Northumberland heat was the first of three sub-regional events, with Durham and Wearside taking place on March 12 at Ramside Hall in Durham and the Teesside awards at Teesside University on March 26. Winners from each of the three heats will then go to the regional finals at Hardwick Hall Hotel at Sedgefield on April 23.
