New build house with ultra-slim sliding glass doors near Mawgan Porth Dynargh is a three storey private hillside retreat, built into the side of the rugged Cornish hillside, overlooking the sea by Watershedd. To ensure the build was sensitive to its surrounding natural landscapes, the house is partially hidden from the roadside, with black timber horizontal lines while lower floor level was clad in natural stones from the local area. The colours of the materials perfectly matched with the surrounded nature and beach. On the coast facing elevation, light and views were achieved through extensive use of the ultra-slim minimal windows glazing range. Our ultra-slim sliding glass doors, as well as minimally framed glass pivot doors, offered impressive aspect views of the Cornish coast and sealine. These minimally framed glass doors open up onto the rear patio and terrace on the ocean facing façade, with connections to two further storeys of the house, hidden and unseen from local public footways and roads. From the inside, the reception areas lead to large contemporary living spaces, using complementary flooring to create a seamless transition between kitchen, dining and lounge areas and the terrace through the large ocean-facing windows. Three sets of ultra-slim minimal windows sliding doors were used to create the rear aspect facing windows, overlooking the Cornwall coast. Each installation was expertly detailed, hiding all surrounding framing within the stone and timber facades, leaving only the glass within the aperture. The large glass windows stand floor to ceiling, capturing the view of the sea from its hillside location. As the minimal windows systems are made bespoke to the architect’s specification, the doors were made in line with the ceiling height, elongating the space and filling the room with light. With flush floor finishes, these doors were the perfect solution for the private seaside retreat, allowing visitors and residents to walk over the tracks in bare feet in comfort. minimal window pivot doors were used in pairing with the ultra-slim sliding doors to offer a cohesive glazing design. These glass pivot doors open smoothly on one pivot, offering the same minimal design and flush thresholds as their sister doors to the main living areas. Ultra-slim sliding glass doors and other architectural glazing solutions added massive amount of natural light into the bedroom, kitchen and living spaces.
