Motor-assisted Power Unit

Originally designed for a process industry customer with specific needs, the Hägglunds PU is a power unit without an incorporated oil tank for low-speed applications. It works solely with the larger varieties of Marathon motor using the motor case volume as the fluid reservoir so saving space and cost. In most cases, a PU is chosen when size makes it difficult to use a PEC type power unit. Its most common use is in the pulp and paper industry, where it powers the drives of pulp washing machines.
