What Are You Thankful For?

Thanksgiving, arguably one of the biggest days on the American calendar, is today! It’s a national holiday with deep historical roots, serving as a time for people to come together, express gratitude, and share a festive meal. As it’s a time for reflection and in the spirit of the season, in today’s blog, we are going to take a look at how this national holiday came about, how it’s celebrated, and why EWFM is thankful for 2023.

What is Thanksgiving:

Thanksgiving traces its roots back to the early 17th century when Pilgrims, English Puritans seeking religious freedom, arrived at Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620. Despite a challenging first winter, with the help of Native Americans, they learned to farm the land, leading to a successful harvest in 1621. The first Thanksgiving was a feast shared by the Pilgrims and Native Americans to celebrate their cooperation and the harvest.

In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday, setting the date as the final Thursday in November. In 1941, the U.S. Congress officially established Thanksgiving as the fourth Thursday in November.

The main feature of Thanksgiving is the festive meal, with the star being a roasted turkey. Common dishes include stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and various vegetables, with pumpkin or pecan pie as the main dessert. The meal gives family and friends a chance to reflect and express gratitude for the blessings of the past year.

It has many popular traditions aside from the meal including parades and both professional and college games of American Football. The ending of the national holiday marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season known as Black Friday.

What have EWFM been thankful for this year?
  1. A Cornucopia of Success

This year has been nothing short of a harvest of accomplishments! From breaking sales records to launching new products, we’ve filled our cornucopia of success to the brim. Just like the Thanksgiving table, our achievements have been diverse and plentiful, leaving us with a sense of gratitude that rivals a stuffed turkey.

  1. A Team as great as Pumpkin Pie

Our company is more than just a group of individuals! Much like the variety of pies gracing Thanksgiving dessert tables, our team comes together with different skills and flavours to create a harmonious blend. We’re thankful for each member of our team, the unsung heroes, and the vocal leaders alike, who have contributed to our collective success this year.

  1. Stuffing Ourselves with Learning

In the spirit of continuous improvement, our company has embraced the mindset that every challenge is an opportunity to learn. We’ve been stuffing ourselves with knowledge, whether it’s exploring new products to enhance our portfolio such as the water treatment equipment or understanding the evolving needs of our customers. Just like a well-seasoned stuffing, these lessons have added depth and flavour to our growth.

As we wrap up this Thanksgiving celebration, we want to give one final thank you to our customers for an amazing 2023! The work doesn’t stop now, though; we will be working right up until the Christmas break. So, make sure to challenge us with any enquiries or questions!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
