Significant Appointment Bolsters Euro Catering’s Dealer Network
Fast-growing catering equipment supplier, Euro Catering, has demonstrated its ambition in the marketplace, and its desire to support dealers’ growth and profitability targets, by expanding its sales team through the appointment one of the most successful dealer-focused sales managers in the sector. Chris Blunt, formerly area sales manager of Uropa Distribution, the wholesale arm of Nisbets PLC, has joined Euro Catering as Distributor Sales Manager. Chris brings 25 years’ catering industry experience to the role, the last five spent working on the wholesale side of the business, supplying equipment to clients ranging from Michelin star restaurants, to school contract caterers. Blunt, who has built relationships with over 300 different distributors within the M25 and Essex areas alone, will now be bolstering and expanding Euro Catering’s distributor network, by creating a vibrant national wholesale supply channel. The new Euro Catering distributor network should attract dealers keen to supply the large and exciting range of equipment Euro Catering has within its portfolio. Euro Catering is already enlisting dealers seeking a good margin on a wide range of commercial equipment from leading European and US manufacturers including Palux, Italforni, Giorik, Bakers Pride, BKI, APW and Anets. Going forward, some brands will also be offered to only a select few dealers, so the message from Chris Blunt and the Euro Catering team is very much one of ‘get in touch now’, to avoid missing out on key opportunities. Being able to offer the high-performing equipment available through Euro Catering should increase a dealer’s chances of winning contracts and tenders, as well as earning higher margins. Euro Catering’s dealers will be able to supply some of the most advanced, energy-efficient and visually attractive equipment in the market Whilst Chris Blunt’s wholesale experience will be invaluable, he also brings knowledge acquired at the industry’s ‘coalface’, having been a head chef at top London restaurants including Le Caprice and The Ivy and also having earned his stripes as a development chef. Add to this his skills in commercial kitchen design and he has a holistic knowledge of the catering industry second-to-none. Euro Catering’s owner Tim Charlton, says: “We have bided our time, looking for the right individual to take our dealer network to the next level and are sure we have found that person in Chris Blunt. We are excited about the future and a shifting emphasis within the business, which will now be predominantly dealer-focused. We see this as the next stage in our development, and one that follows on from our acquisition of Standex’s US brands in 2015. We are delighted to have Chris on board.” Chris Blunt commented: “I am excited about this role with Euro Catering, within which I will be able to use my skills at prospecting and opening new dealer accounts. We can supply some brilliant brands down our expanding dealer channels and I would urge any distributor to take a look at these and consider whether they can afford to ignore them. “Any distributor struggling to make sales, or achieve the margins they seek, with their existing brands should get in touch and become part of our network as soon as possible. The opportunities are significant.” The news of this development comes hot on the heels of Euro Catering revitalising its brand identity. The company’s buoyancy and ambition is causing waves in the catering equipment supply market, making Euro Catering the ‘one to watch’ in 2018.
