Burns shortlisted for Living Wage Champion Awards
We've been shortlisted for the Living Wage Champion Awards 2014! The Living Wage is a great initiative to get companies to pay employees an hourly rate of at least £7.65 to all employees. We were the first company in the Carmarthen region to become an accredited Living Wage Employer, and the first pet food company in the UK, so we're really excited at our chance to win the honour for Wales! Employers choose to pay the Living Wage, which is calculated according to the basic cost of living using the ‘Minimum Income Standard’ for the UK, on a voluntary basis. The Living Wage enjoys cross party support, with public backing from the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition and there are now over 900 accredited employers throughout the UK.
