12 Axon’ Cable launches its new insulating material for standard or special Axojump Flat Flex Cables (FFC). Not only does the new type ‘B’ insulation tape meet the latest REACH regulation, but it also offers better performance than the type ‘L’ tape it replaces. Flat flexible cables: new insulation with improved performance Axon’ Cable launches its new insulating material for standard or special Axojump Flat Flex Cables (FFC). Not only does the new type ‘B’ insulation tape meet the latest REACH regulation, but it also offers better performance than the type ‘L’ tape it replaces. High performance and environmentally friendly FFC In order to conform to REACH, the type L insulation tape used in Axon’ FFC for many years has been discontinued. This tape contains a chemical which will be banned under REACH in February 2015. Axon’ Cable is now offering alternative flat flexible cables with type B insulation. This new tape is qualified for applications with a maximum temperature of 105°C and a maximum voltage of 60 V AC whereas previously the type L tape was limited to 80°C and 30 V AC. Just as with the type L system, all our new cables ensure full compatibility with all major ZIF and LIF connection systems.
