Acorn Surface Technology of England is part of the AHC Group

Acorn Surface Technology Ltd. has been part of the AHC Group since the beginning of 2016 but has been part of Aalberts Industries NV since 2001, just like AHC Oberflächentechnik GmbH. Since its founding in 1969, Acorn has been offering hard anodising, chromic acid and sulphuric acid anodising, primarily for the precision engineering industry. This is complemented by wet paint processes, aluminium vacuum coatings, anti-friction coatings, as well as chromating and passivation. Today, Acorn is strongly represented in the aerospace, defence and automotive industries. "We generate around 40% of our turnover in the aerospace sector, 40% in defence technology and 20% in the automotive sector. By joining the AHC Group, we expect to see a significant growth in turnover with the automotive sector, where AHC has built a very good reputation over the years," said Business Development Manager Jonathan Riches. Today, Acorn includes companies such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Rolls Royce and their suppliers amongst their clients. Examples of applications are air filters, de-icing systems, aluminium cams for petrol engines or chassis components, all of which are provided with a single or combination coating.
