Aquatest – Prevent Corrosion Caused By Water

Many water-filled systems are filled with untreated water, which can lead to internal corrosion. Left without attention, this corrosion can accumulate and eventually block pumps and valves or, worse still, compromise the structural strength of the pipework, causing catastrophic failure. Aquatest renders water completely non-corrosive and prevents corrosion from starting in wet and wet-tested systems. It has been specially formulated by Vapor-Tek for use in heating systems, valves, pipes and fire extinguishers where water is held for long periods between uses. Filled with a 0.5% – 2.5% solution of Aquatest, the water held within the system is left completely inert towards metal, protecting the entire system from corrosion. Aquatest is also perfect for products and systems which are wet-tested and may be left with small amounts of residual water. Hydrostatic pressure and leak testing of pumps, pressure vessels, tanks, pipework. Heat does not change its effectiveness so it can be used in boilers, radiators, heat exchangers and HVAC systems. When engines are hot-tested after production, adding Aquatest to the cooling system (and Vaporol to the oil) ensures they remain pristine in storage and during shipping, and are in perfect condition when commissioned by the purchaser. Simple to use and extremely cost-effective, Aquatest is a powerful corrosion preventative with a gentle action. The liquid contains no solvents, nitrates, VOCs or other toxic chemicals. It is totally non-flammable and has a near-neutral pH. After use for testing, any residue left in your system will have rendered the test water non-corrosive and, at recommended concentrations, can be either recycled or discharged safely into sewers. Where systems have been cleaned or emptied between uses and may be left for long periods, we also recommend pouring in a Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor – oil-based Vaporol or Aquavap for aqueous systems, to give reliable protection to all surfaces indefinitely.
