Ex Submersible pressure transmitter EXL 8432
The new submersible pressure transmitter EXL 8432, by Swiss company Trafag, is the ideal choice for the reliable and cost-effective monitoring of pressure and level of fluids in potentially explosive environments, for example in the oil and gas industry. Certifications according to ATEX and IECEx allow application in the zones 0, 1, 2 (II 1G Ex ia IIC T4/T6 Ga) and in mining (I M1 Ex ia I Ma). The submersible pressure transmitter EXL sets itself apart through the cost-effective thick film-on-ceramic sensor technology in the pressure ranges from 0…200 mbar to 0…25 bar and the in-house ASIC technology, which allows the compensation of temperature-related effects and the measurement precision of NLH±0.2% of the same type. At 25 bar or a submersion depth of 250 m, the structure is guaranteed by protective class IP68. The housing material 1.4404/1.4435, shielded cable in PUR, FEP or PE and O-rings FKM/EPDM allow application in the widest range of media. The operating and media temperature comprises the range from -20…70°C. On the bottom of the stainless steel sensor body, a cap protects the sensor membrane. The sleek submersible pressure transmitter EXL 8432 is available in two different versions: with M10x1 interior threading and M22x1 exterior threading. The model with the interior threading can be inserted with a mounted safety cap in 1” pipes. If the safety cap of the M22x1-version is dismantled, the EXL 8432 can be inserted into thick fluid or clogging media due to the large pressure measurement opening. The relative pressure measurement is possible due to the interior-ventilated cable which ensures the pressure compensation in the atmosphere. The output signal 4...20 mA has integrated surge protection, and is also protected against lightning due to the EMC protection according to IEC61000.
