A solution of Safer Rust Remover was made up from a one litre bottle of concentrate and 4 litres of warm water. The Caliper was dropped into the solution completely assembled including all of the washers and rubbers. ? After a day in soak the claiper was removed and washed with hot water, on examination the rust remover was getting underneath the heavy rust and it was starting to lift. To aid the process the heavy rust scale was removed with a chipping end of a hammer. The rust remover enables it to fall off of the steel easily. The caliper was put back into soak for another 4 days examining every day and agitating the rust to aid removal rinsed in hot water and returned to the solution. After a total of six days from start to finish the caliper is like new the rust has been removed from all of the pits in the steels surface. ? Rustbuster safer rust remover will not harm rubber plastic or other metals. You can just drop the part to be derusted into the solution and forget about it untill required, for months if you like. When you eventually come to use the part wash with hot water or pressure wash and the item will be like new. ? TOP TIP ?
