March 2018 News

The end of the financial year is always a busy period, compounded by the need to complete a comprehensive stock take and a financial audit. Purchase orders were received for water and waste water quality instrumentation for a number of water companies. We have also sold our Proam ammonia technology overseas to an interesting semi-conductor application. Parameters included ammonia, DO, Conductivity and %UVT. We also needed to complete a FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) for a large walk-in analyser kiosk build comprising eight analytical measurements and automatic sample collection. There are also some exciting new products developments including a new potable water turbidity instrument.

Two more Proams ordered for Semi-conductor application in Taiwan Our distributer, Atlas Technology of Taiwan, has taken delivery of two Proam ammonia monitors ranged 0-500ppm as N, for a significant waste-water project. The end user is the Innolux Corporation, who manufacture LCD panels of all different sizes and touch-control screen technology. Innolux claim to be the world's leading manufacturer of TFT-LCD displays and supplies many of the world's leading information and consumer electronics manufacturers. The Company also is proud to boast they have a low carbon footprint with a focus on environmental improvement - in 2016 they won a Sustainable Water Management Award for outstanding water management performance, from the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards scheme.

Wessex Water Purchase Proam ammonia monitor with membrane filtration Another Proam ammonia monitor was purchased for continuous final effluent ammonia measurement within Wessex Water. The instrument has been supplied with membrane filtration which is typically installed to improve measurement performance and reliability of operation on final effluent applications. The instrumentation is to be installed within a small GRP enclosure by an electrical contractor, working on behalf of Wessex Water.

Wessex Water purchase further Conductivity instrumentation for crude sewage application Two further conductivity monitors have been purchased from PPM to install at the inlet of a waste water treatment plant. The monitors provide an indication of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) which is a useful indicator of industrial load entering the works.

Realtech M3000 UVT analyser to be installed for Potable Water application A Realtech M3000 instrument is to be installed at Southern Water to replace an existing instrument, on a UV disinfection process. The Real M3000 instrument is used to control the lamp intensity of the UV sterilisation process, principally affected by the variation of dissolved organics and turbidity within the water body, to ensure efficient disinfection.

HF Scientific launch new MTOL+ turbidity meter A new turbidity meter has been launched to replace the existing Microtol instrument. In addition retaining all of the key features of the microtol, the new MTOL+ also offers continuous ultrasonic cleaning, data logging of the measurement and calibration history, (for one year) and USB data transfer as standard.
