NHG Timber Ltd. has now been
trading for over 30 years
having been founded by Nick
Goodwin who has spent his entire
working life in the timber trade. The
family run business has continued to
grow, developing new source areas and
widening its product portfolio, and is
presently trading with over sixty-five
countries and offering a wide range of
products. Specializing in the sourcing
of tropical and temperate timbers with
a special focus on West Africa, the
company prides itself on the knowledge
and dedication of its team as well as its
strong working relationships with its
suppliers, all helping to provide a first
class service to its buyers.
The MENA region is an area, which
is well used to rapid change and the
businesses that serve it respond and
develop to suit. And it is refreshing
to note that one of these dynamic
companies - NHG Timber - has been
supplying the region with hardwood
products consistently since 1996. As
such, many readers will be familiar

closer look at NHG Timber.
Hardwood Lumber
NHG Timber specializes in hardwood
lumber in both standard specification
and fixed dimensions, marketing the
full range of temperate and tropical
species from the four corners of the
globe. The company trades not only in
well-known species but also promotes
and develops new species, grades and
specifications, to the benefit of both
buyers and suppliers.
Decking
Owing to the popularity and demand
for hardwood decking, NHG supplies
a wide range of species from South
America, the Far East and Africa. In
addition, the company is also able to
source material that is certified should
a buyer request for the same.
Semi-finished products
As suppliers wish to add more value to
their products, NHG Timber has become
more involved in promoting dimension
parts, for example squares and cut-tosize
blanks, mouldings and laminated
sections. The Far East, Europe and
North America have been more
advanced in developing these products
but increasingly Africa is converting
more of its huge resource in this way.
Logs
Whilst always keen to support suppliers
in maximizing value from the forest by
marketing processed products, there
remains a demand in some markets for
logs. Where it is practical to offer, NHG
supplies logs from Africa, Europe and
North America to those buyers wishing
to control their own yields.
