About Us

Lowe Engineering Ltd, established its roots in Leeds as a family-operated enterprise named George E Lowe Limited in the late 1930s. Over the decades, the company has been at the forefront of delivering comprehensive technical solutions to a diverse clientele across various industrial sectors.

Initially, the company focused on serving the petroleum distribution industry, providing storage tanks, pipelines, and reconditioned pumps during the challenging times of the Great Depression in the 1930s. Despite economic hardships, particularly in the petroleum industry, Lowe Engineering persevered and expanded.

During the Second World War, the company played a pivotal role in the war effort by utilizing its specialized welding and machining skills in aluminum and steel. Post-war, this expertise facilitated the development and marketing of a range of proprietary products.

In the late 60s and throughout the 1970s, Lowe Engineering forged strong ties with the CEGB (the UK nationalized Power Industry), integrating its equipment for Steam and Water Analysis. This collaboration paved the way for global expansion, as the company successfully secured contracts for major power station projects in India, Africa, Hong Kong, and China.

By the 1980s, Lowe Engineering had gained international acclaim as a premier design authority for a diverse array of sample and analysis systems, spanning power generation to chemical processing plants.

In 1987, the company achieved a significant milestone by becoming one of the pioneers in its industry to obtain ISO 9001 Quality Standard registration, encompassing design, manufacture, and installation.

Adapting to emerging challenges, Lowe Engineering diversified its expertise in the mid-1990s by entering the realm of environmental monitoring, data capture, and reporting systems, commonly known as CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring). By the early 21st century, the company introduced its own CEMData software, continuously updating and developing it to meet evolving industry needs.

In 2003, a Management Buy Out led to a change in ownership, prompting a restructuring of the company's extensive fabrication capabilities in response to competition from Eastern Europe and China. Despite these challenges, Lowe Engineering has consistently strengthened its position, expanding market share in core Sampling and Analysis activities, especially in new territories.

While historically prominent in the Power Generation Industry, Lowe Engineering has diversified its offerings to encompass fully integrated packages for Waste Water, Process Water, and Process Gas Industries.

To complement its products, Lowe Engineering Solutions offers on-site technical support and training, providing clients with a comprehensive package of after-sales solutions and support.
