Ofcom has today published its annual Communications Market Report
Ofcom has today published its annual Communications Market Report, the most comprehensive study of the UK's TV, radio, broadband, telecoms and postal industries. This year's report reveals the UK's television and online habits. It uncovers a nation of 'binge viewers', with 40 million people watching multiple episodes of series back to back. There are also stark differences between the viewing habits of younger and older people. The report also reveals contrasting approaches to online privacy, with parents divided over whether to share photos of their children, and younger people more relaxed about sharing photos of themselves. The Communications Market Report 2017 examines in detail how people are using communications services, as well as industry trends and revenues. It finds that the telecoms, TV, radio and postal services generated total revenues of £54.90bn in 2015, a rise of £0.19bn (0.4%) in real terms on the previous year. Ofcom has also published accompanying reports for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
