The Doulton Ultracarb Ceramic Filter Candle with Scale Inhibitor is an effective 5 stage filter candle with ceramic outer shell and activated carbon block core, effectively removing bacteria, chlorine and trace organics, with the additional benefit of heavy metal media for the reduction of toxic lead and scale control using a scale inhibitor. Highly effective against particulate contamination, pathogenic bacteria (including cryptosporidium), cysts etc. Filter Stages Stage 1 Natural ceramic outer shell effectively filters microscopic particles, bacteria and cysts. Stage 2 Anti-bacterial formulation with silver inhibits microbiological growth within ceramic. Stage 3 Activated carbon block core effectively reduces chlorine to improve taste and odour. Stage 4 Heavy metal media reduces toxic lead that can be found in old plumbing systems.
