Main Gas Station Fence

The staff at FenceTek were closely involved with the successful negotiations to win the supply and installation of galvanised steel palisade fencing and gates to the boundary of a main Gas Station installation, on the Harefield to Southall 1220 diameter Gas Pipeline. Contract Managers liaised closely with Main Contractor J Murphy during the tender period and were instrumental in finding the best steel palisade fence system to comply with both the requirements of British Standard 1722 Part 12 and the National Grid Specifications. Competition was fierce, but with a good compliant fencing system, backed by detailed drawings, and excellent purchasing power, the contract was secured. The work consisted of 150.0 linear metres of 2400 high galvanised palisade fencing with single pointed 'W' section pales set in a 300 x 200 C40 concrete sill. The contract also included a matching 6000 wide double leaf manual swing gate and two single leaf manual swing gates with panic latches; the ground preparation for the work was also out by the fence installers. Strict safety parameters were in place including full personal protection equipment for all the staff, including fire retardant clothes. The Companies Method Statements and Risk Assessments were carefully prepared and all personnel were required to undertake the a comprehensive safety induction by J Murphy.
