Coil-In-Tank Water Chillers
Coil in tank water chillers have a number of distinct advantages over conventional process water chillers that employ coaxial or plate heat exchangers as evaporators. The water flow through a conventional water chiller is restricted to a narrow band of water flow so that the temperature difference is limited to between 7°C and 3°C whilst with a coil in tank system as employed by F&R Products Ltd RCU range the flow rate is inconsequential. The flow rates through the RCU range of water chillers can be as low or high as the process requires. A further advantage with the RCU range of water chillers is temperature stability, the large volumes of water are slow to change temperature so electronic or mechanical controls are able to adjust to the change of conditions, slowly so there is no overrun or under shut on temperature. The coil in tank system employed by the F&R RCU range is also able to offer process water temperatures of as low as +1°C without the use of glycol or the fear of freezing which with a conventional chiller is impossible and would cause expensive damage.
