Machine Controlled Processes

Machine Controlled Processes

EBW is a machine controlled process, with welding which is undertaken in vacuum with no filler material. This results in fantastic weld quality and repeatability.Weld speeds are often 1-2 metres/min and result in deep, narrow welds requiring less than 5% of the heat input which is required for a comparable depth TIG weld. The remarkably low distortion which results from EB welds means that precision parts are able to be finished machined before welding, even ground gears.
