Find The Needle Add My Company
Situated on the picturesque Cornish coast at Bude, the Atlantic Rise Retirement complex comprises of 29 one or two bedroom flats. As a popular coastal resort, tourism is a major part of Bude's economy. Around 500,000 tourists visit Bude every year, and with limited parking facilities an access control system was an essential part of the development's design. Architects Armstrong Burton wanted to ensure that residents were never left fighting for a space, so AUTOPA's automatic bollards were specified from the outset. In total AUTOPA supplied and installed four automatic bollards at Atlantic rise; two at the entrance of each car park. Automatic Bollards are ideal for residential areas as they are less conspicuous than a barrier and offer a higher level of security. Automatic bollards can be activated using a variety of control mechanisms depending on the needs of the site, in this case the barriers were operated using a remote control. Grade 316 stainless steel was used to manufacture the bollards installed at Atlantic Rise. Designed specifically for marine environments, this grade of stainless steel offers the maximum corrosion protection, ensuring the bollards continue to look good for many years to come. AUTOPA worked closely with the contractor in charge of the build, Balfour Beatty, and the bollards were installed over four days. All the bollards were thoroughly tested before the AUTOPA engineers left site, ensuring that unauthorised parking will not be an issue for the residents of Atlantic Rise, even in the height of peak season.
