WHY USE WIRE?

A Proven Concept … Early in the nineteenth century, visionary engineers discovered that when steel is drawn into wires its strength could increase, meaning a flexible wrap of steel wires was stronger than a solid steel bar of the same diameter. Based on this insight they developed the forerunners of the modern wire-cable suspension bridge and today many of the world’s most famous bridges routinely rely on the superior strength ratio offered by wire-cable – They can carry heavier load-decks for longer distances at greater heights than alternative designs, and requiring fewer materials, even on the longest spans, they also bring lower construction costs.

Zip-Clip Wire Suspension and Bracing Systems

The wire used in all Zip-Clip solutions is a premium product with a tensile strength of 1960 N/mm². It is available in load ranges from 15 kg to 500 kg with a built-in safety factor of at least 3:1. This level of performance and accountability provides the confidence to use wire in place of traditional threaded rod and today wire rope suspension solutions are being specified for an ever-increasing range of applications. Due to their highly flexible and adaptable nature, the unique problem-solving abilities of wire systems are often called upon by architects and engineers. WHERE CAN I USE WIRE?

Zip-Clip wire rope systems can be utilised for suspension, bracing, securing, and more. Suspensions are typically used within the construction industry, where they are utilised as an equivalent to systems such as threaded rod.
