About Us

Young Outdoors was formed in the Millennium Year 2000, out of a vision to provide safe, strong playground structures for children of all ages to enjoy, and for their teachers to use as extra learning spaces outside the confines of the classroom.

The shelters, outdoor classrooms and playhouses are all hand-built out of very robust materials to designs which have been used for many years in Canada to construct very large span storage sheds. They need no foundation but are solidly anchored against movement.

All the materials are pressure treated for long-life and constructed to individual needs. Each building is finished on site by our team of family and friends.

Ramps, weather vanes and table can be provided. Structural woodwork is usually coloured to match the school uniform.

Chris Young was a primary school headteacher for many years in West Norfolk. He has maintained his link with schools and children through supply teaching, through musical instrument tuition and by being a school (grandfather) governor. He is also a Bishops'Visitor to schools in the Ely Diocese.
