Wayfinding was a term first used by architect Kevin Lynch in his 1960 book �The Image of the City� where he referred to maps, street numbers, directional signs and other elements as �way-finding� devices. The term is now widely used to denote the display of visual information and refers to information and warning signs, as well as signs identifying buildings and offices
