Robertson Geologging Ltd is a developer and manufacturer of borehole logging systems for mining, oil/gas, water and geotechnical surveys. The company, whilst small (35 staff), is a recognised leader in this niche market and supplies equipment globally. RG originated in 1986 as a management buyout from a well known oil/gas consultancy and is now majority-owned by a major Japanese geophysical company (OYO Corporation).

We are looking for an experienced C++ programmer with an MFC and .Net background to join the development team at our North Wales headquarters. The principle task will be the further development of legacy data acquisition and display software to meet the requirements of new oilfield tools we have recently brought to market. You will be responsible for writing and documenting maintainable code and for testing and support after release.

Our ideal candidate will possess a good degree in computing science or similar and have a minimum of three years employment programming in a commercial environment. However, we may relax these requirements for an exceptional candidate who can demonstrate equivalent experience. Candidates will need to be motivated and must be able to plan and schedule their own work with minimal supervision. An interest in geology or geophysics would be a strong advantage.

We offer a £25,000 to £35,000 salary, commensurate with experience, annual profit-related bonus, pension benefits and private health insurance. There may be occasional opportunities for travel worldwide
