Precision engineering component supplier, R. A. Rodriguez, has closed 2011 on a real high. It has reported substantial growth for the second year running and reassuringly this success is almost equally split between the UK and export markets.
In 2010 the company increased its turnover by 25% and it has repeated this performance in 2011. Export sales have also grown to now account for 25% of turnover. “We’ve never secured such a high export quota before,” explained MD, Peter Williamson. “This is against the highest turnover we have ever achieved and we are confident this trend will continue.”
Increased sales have been across all core product groups, with KAYDON® bearings, KHK stock gears and Framo drives leading the field. R. A. Rodriguez became the KHK master distributor for Europe last year with the creation of a distribution network that covers Italy, Spain, Denmark, Norway and Germany; it increased its stock gear business in the last twelve months by 40%.
Demand for KAYDON® bearings – and in particular the Reali-Slim range – has also been extremely buoyant in the light of R. A. Rodriguez extending its European sales territory beyond the UK, Scandinavia and Ireland.
In anticipation of future growth R. A. Rodriguez has already invested in new customer support facilities at its headquarters in Letchworth, and during 2011 the company appointed a new sales engineer.
