For 12 years our dedicated, Northamptonshire based team have been delivering outstanding levels of service, embracing renewable energy sources with the aim of providing competitively priced business energy solutions. Established in April 2002 by Charlie Crossley Cooke, Opus Energy signed up it's very first customer in November 2002, initially just supplying SMEs with electricity. In December 2002, Telecom Plus Plc took a 20% stake in the company, and then in May 2006, 30% of the company was acquired by International Power Plc (now part of GDF SUEZ). We have now expand our product offering to include the corporate sector, where in 2007 we launched Opus Evolution, which is a flexible purchasing tool that is specifically developed to give corporate customers direct access to the wholesale market. In 2009, we also began supplying gas to our ever growing list of business customers. The impressive renewables division was launched in 2011, purchasing power from UK renewable generators. In 2012, Opus Energy celebrated its 10th anniversary, when its customer base reached 150,000 business sites. Over the years, Opus Energy has received numerous awards such as the prestigious ‘Independent Energy Supplier of the Year’ award in 2010. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, Opus Energy has earned a place in The Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 league.
