School arts Workshops - Workshops for schools – Primary and Secondary schools and Colleges
Nugent Education Ltd (Est. 2004) is a registered provider of arts workshops, providing arts and educational workshops and activities. We provide workshops for primary and secondary schools, as well as youth clubs (organisations).

All artists are CRB checked (and fully insured through us), good at what they do and experienced in working with children and young people of all ages (aged 6 – 19 years) and abilities, including children with disabilities, the visually impaired and so on. Our range of workshops includes:

Urban arts workshops
- Graffiti mural making
- Graffiti art workshop
- Rapping (hip hop rap or MC style rapping)
- DJ skills (with top scratch DJs)
- Street dancing
- Break dance (dancing)
- Urban music production (making a compilation CD of songs and raps)
Cultural workshops
- Indian dance
- Spanish and Latin dance (all styles)
- African Zumba dance
- African dancing
- African drumming
- Samba drumming
- Japanese origami (very popular)
- Caribbean banquets available
Special workshops
- Jamaican cookery class with healthy eating (combined course)
- Makeup, hair and beauty (usually for girls – may be career orientated or to show how to create appropriate looks for say college or job interviews)
- Making a ring tine workshop (technology and music combined)
We normally work with groups of up to 20 participants (children / youths) per artists, but can cater for class sized groups were necessary.
We charge £130.00 for a 1 hour session, £195.00 for two hours (average workshop length) and £315.00 for a full day.
(All above + variable travel depending on where you (your school or youth centre) and the artist are based, materials (for arts) costs, 4% administration & VAT)
A full day workshop at £315.00 can be the most cost effective, as we can provide 4 x 1 hour workshops in that day.

Our workshops are used for several reasons. With schools, it may be for after school (extracurricular) activities. It may also be for educational curriculum enhancement, making a subject more vibrant and contemporary by say, adding graffiti art to an art curriculum.
By embodying some cool urban arts within curriculum (rapping for English, dramas for PHSE, break dancing for dance, DJ skills or computer production programmes for music etc), the subject can have more children signing up to it. We also sometimes embody issues such as transition, racism, heath, drugs, teenaged sex, and gun and knife crime and so on within an arts course.
Finally, our artists are booked to deliver various creative arts weeks and / or cultural weeks such as African history month and so on.
For youth centres its normally for positive engagement, and sometimes with a key issue being part of what the project is about, and embodied accordingly.
