About Us
Microbac is a professional, technically based Company very well established in the biological treatment of wastewaters using their efficient, small footprint bioreactors and adapted bacterial cultures. The Company offers a total service to solve wastewater treatment problems across a wide spectrum of municipal sewage and industrial effluent sectors, including the oil and gas industry, both on-shore and off-shore, the petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and drink, agricultural, textile, engineering, shipping, off-shore wind, and waste management industries, as well as for hotel, camp, resort, housing and restaurant outlets.
Microbac's bioreactor-based wastewater treatment plants offer many advantages over conventional biological treatment systems, including their small footprint, rapid start-up, fast biodegradation, ability to accept variable flows and loads, treatment ability of recalcitrant organic chemicals and ammonia, rapid recovery from toxic shocks, lack of odours, automatic operation, ability to operate in remote locations, minimal maintenance, reduced sludge production, ability to further biodegrade sludges, and production of consistent discharge quality able to meet any required environmental standard or for water reuse.
All projects are approached in a phased manner, allowing the client to assess the situation at each stage, prior to further financial commitment. On request, a Microbac engineer will undertake a site survey to assess the extent of any problem and then take samples for analysis and the determination of toxicity and biological treatability using Microbacs adapted micro-organisms and submerged aerated fixed-film (SAFF) or membrane bioreactors (MBR). These tests are carried out in the Companys own laboratories by a team of professional scientists and the results are used to formulate a proposal and costing for a turnkey treatment system. Where appropriate, an on-site treatment trial will be recommended using a mobile bioreactor and the appropriate degrading biological cultures. These trials can serve two purposes. The first is the provision of the necessary data to design a full scale treatment unit, tailored to the wastewater in question, and the second is to demonstrate to the client the overall viability of the system, its ease of operation, and the low maintenance and running costs. From the data provided by the trial, or from analysis and treatability results, a full-scale treatment system can be designed, constructed, installed and then rapidly commissioned by seeding with Microbacs biological cultures.
From the early stages of a contract, through to the completion of the project, Microbac will work closely with the client to provide the most efficient and cost effective means of solving specific wastewater problems using advanced biological techniques to meet any required environmental discharge quality or for water reuse.
Microbac also carryout bioremediation of contaminated land, groundwaters, landfill leachates, oily sludges and spills using their adapted biological cultures, generated on-site in mobile bioreactors. Oily contamination can usually be biodegraded in less than 12 weeks in fully automated recirculating systems for in-situ or on-site treatment and for bioremediation under infrastructure.
Adapted biological cultures are offered for the enhanced treatment of recalcitrant organics and ammonia in all types of biological treatment plants, for the bioremediation of contaminated land and groundwaters, for the automatic treatment of fats, oils and greases (FOG) in kitchen drainlines, pumping stations and wet wells, and for enhanced oil recovery (EOI) in wells .
Potable water plants, by reverse osmosis (RO) from river and saline waters, are designed and fabricated for small communities.
