Saber Engraving

Saber Engraving
Sabrage is a technique used to open champagne bottles with a saber, mainly used for ceremonial occasions. The wielder slides the saber along the bottle to break the top of the neck. This leaves the neck of the bottle open and ready to pour and serve. A client walked into LaserCut Works asking to produce a personalised gift for a special occasion. In order to engrave their initials on the lower section of the hilt, we created a jig for the swords to be placed securely preventing any unpredictable movement. Once the sword was placed in the jig we started to engrave the design on our metal engraver machine. Once that was complete we re-touched some areas with copper paint to create a flawless vintage finish. Here at LaserCut Works, we are able to engrave and etch onto uniquely shaped objects as we are always keen on trying new things in which we can achieve for our clients.
