ECIA RISE Award 2012

Ellesmere Port based Laker Vent Engineering has won the Engineering Construction Industry Associations (ECIA) RISE award for 2012, this award is for Recognising Initiative in Safety Excellence and follows three previous BEST awards in 2007, 2009 & 2010. Laker Vent has a current order book to the value of £6.5m, and with the success of recent projects such as Saica Paper’s PM11 CHP Piping & Mechanical and Conveyor Installation Project in 2010/11 which provided momentum to develop further Laker Vent Engineering’s expertise in Power Plant Piping Installations. Our services are available throughout the UK and due to our ability to provide UK wide services recently secured the Tullis Russell Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Project in Markinch Fife via a multi-national EPC contractor. This success followed on from the Diageo CHP in Leven. In the recent past 2009 & 2010 Laker Vent provided successful piping and mechanical service for Global Renewables Thornton & Leyland Waste to Power Plants and in doing so provided these two PFI projects with “As a PFI project, the time period from initial interest to financial close and on to construction is often 3 years + but LVE stayed with us, secured the work and we are glad that they did. Given the complex and sometimes unique nature of the piping systems on the Lancashire Waste Projects, W2R was looking for a contractor that was competent, professional and flexible as well as good value and LVE met those criteria. LVE worked with our teams to help with design detailing and construction methodology and went on to carry out the materials procurement, shop fabrication, erection and testing.
