HISTORY Labcraft was founded in 1956 by Mr A.A.Luscombe (formerly of Thorn), Mr P Gregg and Mr B Fox. In 1961, the company pioneered the development of transistorised fluorescent lighting, which enabled the operation of fluorescent tubes from a DC supply, and created a wide range of market opportunities. Initially, the demand for DC fluorescent lighting was for leisure vehicles where gas lamps and tungsten bulbs had previously been used. The benefits of high light output and reduced power were very well received. Over the years, the applications became more varied and new markets have brought new challenges leading to product improvements and in some cases specialised lighting products.
