Safety Manager - Wet Out

The ideal Safety Manager candidate will support and assist the operational management in the establishment and application of safe practices throughout the business unit. The qualified candidate will work directly with Production/Job Site Management to balance safety requirements with production goals to ensure compliance with safety-related regulations, systems and practices. Responsibilities will include managing documentation and reporting of safety related records and materials, performing random inspections of job sites, facilities, equipment and vehicles, investigating, documenting and ensuring compliance with the safety-related requirements and recommending safety-related programs, activities and recognition, along with providing various types of training to all levels of employees.

The qualified candidate will be able to work independently and possess a BS in Safety, Health, Environmental or a technical degree in areas such as Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent experience with an emphasis in environmental, chemical or construction safety courses, a willingness to travel, exceptional communication skills as well as tact and diplomacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Internet is required. Certification to perform OSHA/MSHA training requirements such as HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, and Tunnel Rescue, as well as the ability to facilitate CPR and first aid training, as well as experience administering safety in a chemical manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
