About Us

Parasene is a Division of H & E Knowles Lye Ltd, we produce the highest quality garden, home ware, DIY and Iron products. Innovative ideas, constant product development and expansion ensures a unique range that is both durable and functional. H & E Knowles was founded in th early 1920's by Jack Knowles, the company pioneered the manufacture of 'tin baths' at it Lye Works until the onset of the Second world war. After the War Jack Knowles with his Daughter and Four Sons resumed production making and selling tin baths and other galvanised wares in and around the Black Country. In 1959 founder Jack Knowles son Henry and Ethel his wife took control of the expanding 'metal bashing business' Joined by their son Eric trading as H & E Knowles and Son. The current company H & E Knowles (Lye) Limited was incorporated in 1962 continuing in the family tradition of making quality galvanised wares. Henry Knowles died in the late 1960's and his widow Ethel with Son Eric continued to build the business. Today Peter Knowles is the fourth generation to be at the helm of the family run business. Driving the company forward with new product innovation and a vigorous worldwide exporting programme. Daniel Knowles (Peter's Son) is the fifth generation of the Knowles family to join the company and in due course 'Faith' Peter's Daughter will also be recruited by the company and together they will help drive the business forward. In March 2006 H & E Knowles acquired the brand Parasene, with whom they shared many common goals and a similar long traditional history. Parasene, famous for its branded garden products, are similarly based in the Black Country and sell throughout the United Kingdom and the rest of the World.
