Passing on a wealth of experience to the future

With a wealth of experience throughout the business, during a review in 2015 we identified that the time was right to bring on an Apprentice. Having stood out at the interview stage, Hayden Perry joined the team as part of our Apprenticeship scheme and having recently completed his training program is now a key member of our sales team where he now works alongside John Hutchinson who had himself come through our companies’ development program. Hayden spent time in all areas of the business as part of a structured plan to ensure he gained a full understanding of our industry, attending regular training sessions with our external partner this blend of hands on and theory training meant he has quickly shown his potential. Hayden commented “it was slightly daunting when I started but I quickly realised that so many of the team here had come through similar schemes, everyone gave their time to support me in all areas of the company and I quickly realised that it really is the people at Foam Techniques that make the difference”. A number of the team at Foam Techniques have come through development programs earlier in their careers, Stephen Thomas (Operations Director) remembers “it was only 20 years ago that I was unloading blocks and working in production, it was those people who gave their time to help me in the early days and the experiences gained over the last 20 years that helped me to progress so it’s great for us as a knowledgeable team to be passing on some of this experience to Hayden”. With almost 30 years’ experience David Proctor (Northern Area Sales Manager) admits there is always something new to learn, “one of the great things about our business in the vast range of customers we have and the huge array of applications within which they use our products, given the number of new enquires we deal with every month there is always something new that makes us think again about what more we can offer our customers” As an Investors In People accredited company and with a passion for our business we are committed to ensuring we provide the highest levels of service and support to all our customers and that’s why we are investing in the future, as well as recent investment in new plant and equipment we’re equally focused on developing our team and building the exceptional group that we already have.
