Nitrates Directive Plan 2015-2018 – Horizontal and Vertical Storage Tanks Keep Chemicals Safe
The UK farming Nitrates Directive plan for 2015-2018 was announced this week, as reported by Farming Life. Environment Minister Mark Durkan and Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill announced details of the Nitrates Directive Action Programme for the next four years, something that will come into effect from January 1st 2015. A summary leaflet on the Nitrates Action Programmes for 2015-2018 will be available on the DARD and DOE websites from January, and according to Durkan, the new action programme will build on improvements in water quality and agricultural nutrient management seen over the period of the last two action programmes. With many of the measures from previous plans being carried forward, there will be some changes that will be implemented in a way that minimises burden or cost to farmers, whilst still protecting the environment. Both Durkan and O’Neill encourage farmers to maintain their commitment to good farming practice and to protecting the environment and they thanked farmers and stakeholders from the wider agricultural industry for their positive participation. A solid contribution towards managing nitrates is going to be their safe storage across agricultural working environments. Enduramaxx horizontal and vertical storage tanks store liquids safely, thanks to their very robust build, being manufactured from a single piece of rotationally moulded, UV-stabilised polyethylene.
