Following the recent announcement that Frosts Landscapes Construction are the preferred contractor for this project, we are delighted to learn that CED will be involved with the supply of the Granite to the iconic Jubilee Gardens. We will be working closely with both Frosts Landscapes Construction and also the Architects on the job; West 8 Urban Design. Our supply of over 3000m2 of silver grey granite setts will form the access pathways to and through the park along with over 1100 pieces of individually shaped sinuous silver grey granite walling detail. The sinuous walling will act as the path edge and will form 3 levels across the project acting as kerb edges, seating units and also walling sections for planter areas. Special transition pieces ensure that the different levels flow from one section to another.
Calum Fraser, CED’s commercial manager, will be visiting the factory in China at the end of October, along with the client, the architect and employees of Frosts Landscapes Construction, to approve some mock up pieces of the walling.
Jubilee Gardens is a public park situated on the South Bank neighbouring The London Eye. The redevelopment of the park has been designed and built especially for the Queens Diamond Jubilee and Her Majesty will be opening the gardens on the 7th June 2012. This prestigious job will also be complete in time for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. Currently a flat and featureless patch of grass, the gardens will be transformed into a new green landmark for London as part of the Mayor of London’s Great Outdoors Programme.
