JOB SUMMARY:
To provide a competent Structural Engineering Service to BdR’s clients and to ensure that
assigned projects are carried out on time, within agreed budgets and to the satisfaction of the
Client’s requirements. Control the work of the Structural Engineers and Technicians where
necessary.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
Main Duties
- Preparation of fee proposals
- Manage the detail design of structural engineering schemes
- Review and approve scheme designs within the team
- Manage project resources
- Manage project costs
- Monitor scheme/individuals’ performance (time/cost)
- Manage, appraise and develop allocated staff
- Ensure the relevant statutory and design standards are met for all projects
- Contribute to the operational management of the Company
Other Responsibilities
- Decide appropriate use of resources, programme, fee, design standards and design
specifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Chartered preferred
- Industry design standards/guides, best practices and specifications for structural
engineering schemes
- Statutory regulations
- Construction techniques
- Good communication
- Project management
- Assessment of team/individual abilities
- Project decision making
