The B&G MPA wash-down system is built using pump modules delivering either 23 or 28 litres/min each. The amount of pumps in the system will depend on the maximum number of wash guns in operation at the same time. The system pressure is usually set at 70 to 130 bar. Lower pressures at the wash guns are possible using VARI-Pressure lances.
How the Multi Pump Operates
If just one gun is in use during production time, only one pump will operate at any one time, but if the wash gun is shut for more than 10 seconds the next pump in the assembly will be used when washing re-commences. In this way the wear on all pumps is even. More pumps will automatically energise on demand.
The MPA pumps can be used for hand wash guns or CIP nozzle assemblies if required. Foam and sanitiser satellites will operate using this system without the need for additional air supplies to create the foam. The system can work up to 80°C.
