This is an excellent example of the popular type of loft conversion. This loft is converted into an "L" shape which means converting the space over the main house and also extending over the rear bit of the house. It means creating in the rear of the loft, full width dormer with flat roof extension (mansard) over the rear. This kind of loft conversion adds about 30m2 to a standard terrace Victorian house. In most of the cases you are able to achieve an excellent sized bedroom with built-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. In this example we created ample storage space under the sloping roof with touch-click doors – Ajax’ signature in all our loft conversions.En-suite with a minimalistic finish, porcelain tiles and natural colours. We also created a built-in wardrobe with the Ikea pax system inside and custom-made sliding doors. This loft conversion requires 4 steel beams which are sited on the party walls. All external walls are made from timber, walls and roofs are insulated with Kingspan insulation so heat loss in the winter time is very minor and in the summer time the loft doesn't heat up to high temperatures.Outside is finished with clay tiles or slates. Ajax builders’ policy is to use the best materials in order to achieve excellent finish results, this is why we are different from most bigger loft conversion companies which in most cases save on materials using cheap alternatives. We are a design and building company so we take care of the client from the early design stage to completion anywhere within greater London.
