This is was one of our latest and biggest finished projects.
Located in Wimbledon this extension added approx 67m2 to the Victorian House property. Designed by Voon& Benson architects .This involved connecting an old house with a modern looking rear extension.
Structurally the project was quite demanding. Involving Very deep trench foundations, double storey box frame section and extensive steel work, structural openings and repairs.
Interiors are very different in the old part of the house and in the new extension. We have created very modern bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen with just a bit of traditional touch. Big frameless skylight in the living area giving a minimalistic look and giving a lot of natural light.
The Old part of the house was completly refurbished keeping the traditional victorian look. We have recreated or refurbished traditional covings and renovated all existing ceiling roses. New Victorian style fire doors were installed to blend with the old Victorian house features .In each room our carpenters created fine pieces of bespoke carpentry in an oak finish. Also old staircases gained a new look by cladding them with oak.
The Heating system was almost completely changed. Ajax builders installed new discrete trench radiators, under floor heating in the kitchen/dining area. Instead of traditional thermostatic valves, system works on motorised programmable valves to work even more efficiently.The House was completly rewired and new LED dowlights were installed.
The Whole ground floor has new engineered flooring installed in a traditional oak finish.
The Whole house was painted & decorated to a very high standard taking into account all original Victorian covings and other old features
